One of the biggest, if not the greatest, fights in combat sports is about to go down this month. That’s the much hyped showdown between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather happening August 26th at the T-Mobile Arena on the Las Vegas strip. In the last couple years, Conor has gone from total anonymity to one of the most famous athletes on the planet. He can’t go anywhere without being swarmed by fans.
In a crazy video that has gone viral, Islam Badurgov, who is a pro bodybuilder from Kazakhstan, decided to try and pull off a McGregor impersonation. With some painted on tattoos, expensive shades, styled beard and fresh haircut, he hit California’s Venice Beach. It didn’t take fans long to take notice.
Badurgov has about 25 pounds on McGregor but the fans were still fooled. After a couple minutes, there were people screaming for an autograph and selfie. The Conor impersonator didn’t say much as he strolled the beach with his chest cocked out, just like McGregor. The one thing that he didn’t have was Conor’s unique accent. Badurgov got by with smiling and trying to laugh like Conor. He stopped and took selfies with several fans and one older lady almost passed out when she got a selfie with the fake Conor. He fooled just about everyone.
The fake Conor hit Muscle Beach and the strength bars. He easily did every type of strength move, from pull-ups to hand stands. Even the local bodybuilders were blown away. After a quick workout, he jumped in a rented Bentley. He didn’t leave before first standing up in the luxury car and taking a selfie of the madness. The fans ate it up.
Now word yet if Conor saw the video but he is sure to get a laugh when he does. It’s good to be Conor these days, even a fake one.
